Changing intake/exhaust gaskets-problem
Hi guys, I think I have a problem while trying to change the gaskets as antifreeze started dripping out of the block when the manifolds loosened up from the block. I don't see any way that antifreeze should be dripping from that location. Blown head gasket ?? The car ran fine as far as I know before I started this project, no smoke at all and engine ran smooth with no skipping. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Richie.

Never mind, it just hit me.!! the manifold bolts go thru the block into the water jacket. Will now finish the job.0

Yep, you got it. Manifold studs go into the water jacket. Hust replace the studs0

Replace the studs using Loctite on the threads into the block, and on the nuts use an anti-seize paste.0

Thanks guys. I sealed them with Permatex # 59214. Runs great, no leaks.0
