Tachometer

Anyone running a tachometer on a 308 ?, any of the vendors I have contacted say 4 or 8 cyl tachs are common and relatively cheap. However a 6 volt tach is 3 or 4 times the price. Was quoted close to $500.00

How about a jag xj6 tach from a 73 up to 87 or so.  They are electronic and just need to find a housing that will fit to accommodate the mounting location.  They should be dirt cheap considering all the old dead xj6s
