By "correct style" do you mean rectangular or box shaped? My 1953 Hornet had a rectangular box shaped flasher. I assume it was original or replaced a long time ago.
I rewired my original 1953 Hornet and found (after many hours of frustration) that between 1953 and today the flasher terminals had changed. The "P" pilot terminal is the same but the "L" lamp and "X" battery terminal had been switched. Once you switch the terminals in your terminal socket the 6 volt NAPA 3 blade flashers will work fine. I assume your working on a 6 volt car.
If you do not want to switch the terminals or can't, get one from Lance.0
