Custom Cam Grind on 212ci?

Anyone done a hotter cam grind on their 212ci & was it worth it?

    I can not speak from experience on the 212 engine, but I can't leave an engine stock when I rebuild one for myself. It always gets a cam upgrade, and I've never been disappointed.

    Any idea if the lifters can be re-ground or just replacements? 

    Having never done a cam on anything I’ve owned, I have no reference point on this...

    Lifters can be reground.  I have a fixture on my valve refacing to do these.   Dale Cooper has new ones though.  Only difference over the years was the radius of the grind on the lifters.   Changed from 3" to 4" radius in post war years, which would have altered the timing, but cams stayed the same.

    I had a hotter grind done years ago at Schneider Racing Cams in San Diego. I never built the motor and the cam is somewhere in the garage. I do remember Jerry saying he was going to have to use a roller style grind on it because of the lifter style. I have used his cams in Stude V 8's and been happy with them. I have one of his cams in the dual quad 455 Buick motor in my 47 Hudson coupe.
