1946-7 chassis manual wiring diagram shows a rheostat for dimming/brightening gauge lighting. My 47 pickup didn't have one. Does anyone have a photo or know where it would be mounted on the dashboard? Thanks

Bump. I would assume this may have been standard on a commodore and/or an option on other models0

The rheostat is available here https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_mercury_early/instrument-panel-dimmer-switch-butterscotch-knob-ford-super-deluxe.html0

Thank you glowplug, now I know what it looks like. Remaining question is where is/was this located on the dashboard, assuming it is on the face of the dash or is it mounted under on the bottom edge?0

On Stepdowns under edge of dash. Left side had predrilled holes for knob to drop through dash and two holes at proper spacing for attaching screws.0
