Need some help

Can anyone tell me if this is actual Hudson Badging.  I came across two of these at an estate sale of a older car guy.

I have never seen that badge on a Hudson automobile. Anyone else?

A quick leafing through my copy of the book, "Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Mascots-Hood Ornaments and Trademarks" by Walter Harris, doesn't show any trademark or badge with the word Hudson with that "lazy "S"".

What is the size incl thickness please.

I don't think it has anything to do with the Hudson Motor Car Company.  I've been involved with Hudsons for almost 50 years and have never seen anything like it.

Looks like 1938 , but I've never seen that S
