would performance improve if you put a 4 barrel adapter on a 308 intake and mounted 500 cfm 4 barrel carb?

It probably would be better to pick up a Clifford aluminum 4bbl intake.  It is designed for a 4bbl car, it is about 1/3 the weight of a stock manifold, and looks better too: https://cliffordperformance.net/store?olsPage=products/44-4500wh
