It's me again. I've learned from my machinist that the 262 head mounted to my 308 is in need of a shave. Can anyone tell me wha the minimum final head thickness should be?
Thank you

Ck if its ever been shaved previously then it should measure 2" originally, so I suggest mill .060 - .080 safely. (However, Ive milled them much further then installed short reach s/plugs).

Factory spec was a max of .060 or total thickness if 1.94".The thinner it is the more it "squashes" the combustion chamber.
