Bracket attached to window channel
Replacing windows in my 1923 Hudson sedan. Was able to get the old one out and found that the bracket that
attaches to the chain mechanism is welded to the metal channel. Is there a trick to remove it and weld it to a new
channel or should I try to reuse the old channel? I found that each bracket is in a different place on each window.

Easiest way to replace those window brackets is to use a chisel and break the spot welds that connect the bracket to the channel. Once it's removed ,straighten the bracket and grind the formerly welded surface flat. Now either weld it to new channel or drill holes and rivet it to a new channel. If the channel and bracket are usable, then reuse them.0

Thanks LanceThat was going to be my plan too. Will try to sand blast the old channel and use new setting tape if possible. If not break and weld!0
