overdrive transmission on ebay

All 1952-54 Hudsons used a two lever tranny. if the one on EBay is a single lever tranny it will not fit. (unless you had the steering columm jacket and all the linkage and cable to go with it, probably not really worth the troubl.)
The picture should show if the tranny has two levers on the side or just on and then a lever on top of tranny for the cable.0 -
That is a single lever tranny. also note that the bellhousing is bolted on from inside the bellhousing, 52-54 tranny bolts to the bellhousing from the tranny side.

What you see from L to R is the clutch lever, the tranny lever, a horizontal lever for the cable, and the overdrive lockout.
Actually, the 'single lever' tranny has two levers. It's just that the rear one is small and horizontal and is operated by the cable that comes out of the end of the steering col. and is pushed when you lift the shift lever for R and 1.0 -
I don't know what part of the world you are in but I have a good 52 - 54 OD I might consider selling. I went through it for a tech session we had here, put in new bearings and checked everything out. It was even re-painted. It would need to be re-painted again and possibly a new rear seal as it has been sitting for quite a while. I don't think I'll ever use it but I have been keeping it around just in case. If you are interested email me. Check www.HudsonClub.org for may email address.. (Shameless promotion ;-)
I don't want to ship this thing .... I'm in Maryland0
