Is the center part of the 1936 Grille supposed to be chrome, or Painted aluminum? I have heard both. Thanks for any help.

I had thought it was chrome-plated cast potmetal...?

Mine has chrome crow's-foot at the top, and chrome center and outside. The grillework is painted

Mine was painted when I got it, the same color at the pin stripping. However, the Terraplane restoration guide, available from K-Gap says that this should be chrome. So I have had mine chromed. If you are restoring a Terraplane I highly recommend this guide. I am nearing completion on a total resto on a 1936 Terraplane Custom 6 sedan and I have practically worn mine out. It was put together by Press Kale and Wayne Graefen. It would be nice if there were guides like this for other models
