Steering column
I tried to remove my steering column today and didnt have much luck. I loosened the clamp at the base of the column right above the steering box and I could get the column to move upwards about a 1/2 inch and no more. Do I have to open up the steering box to disconnect a gear or something?

I think he wants to leave the sector in the car and just remove the shaft. I've never done that myself.0

Yes I was just trying to change the column itself without removing the steering box from the car. No one has done this? Maybe it can't be done that way I dunno.0

Definitely can't be done without removing the box from the car.
