I have decided to keep my stock rear end on my 49 for now and run with it and see if any problems crop up with axles and the like. This allows me to keep the original e brake set up although I did remove the clutch and brake set up including the master cylinder. I plan to put a vacuum assisted dual master on the firewall for convenience sake as well as allowing me to build a small console to house my floor shifter. My question is this: the brace that stiffens the ebrake mechanism runs from a vertical brace from the floor and then there is a rod going forward to the crossmember, will it be in the way of my th400 and drive shaft? I guess if it is I could run the rod to the back of the car instead of forward. Has any one else run into this? BTW I also plan on using the original drive shaft and just shorten the front of it and have a matching yoke put on to adapt to the tranny. Any been theres and done thats? Any advice. Thanks...Jim
