54 Hornet Special
I have a chance to buy a Hornet special 2dr but have no idea what this is. I have never seen one and have no idea how rare these are. I had a 4 dr '54 Hornet and it was much fancier. If you know something about these cars could you call me at 952-887-2514 or "E" me a number to call you at.
Thanks, Cautious Dr. Bob.

Someone will soon fill you in on all the facts I'm sure, but I believe a Hornet 'Special' was a somewhat Spartan Hornet, one marketed at a cheaper price to increase sales.0

The Special was a plainer version of the Hornet series as Jon said. There were two 2 door models offered, a Club Coupe and a Club Sedan, the diference being in the roofline. The Club Sedan had the longer roofline like the Brougham models of earlier years. CPI price guide lists the Sedan at $6250.00, $9500.00 and $14,400.00 and the Club Coupe at $6050.00, $9000.00 and $13,700.00 (low, average and high values). Hope this helps.0

A Hornet Special is basically Super Wasp trim with the Hornet wheelbase and drivetrain.0
