Okay, got a few questions...
so you can run a plate over a stock manifold, and use an edmunds?
How does the Spring adapter work? I would love to convert my hudson to an automatic, preferrably a turbo 350 hydro, do you need a special converter, or do you just need to drill the flywheel, use the spacer plate, mounts? etc... ????0 -
Contact Dany Spring at KGap for more details. kgaphet@aol.com.0

Just curious.....when you guys are putting in the 700R4, are you having to raise the floor tunnel inside?

I am using Dany's tranny adaptor and custom mini-starter on the 56-308 in my 50 PaceMaker along with a 350 turbo tranny.
What I did was mount the engine in the orginal location, cut out the orginal transmission crossmember, added in a new rear crossmember for the transmission.
Also had to cut the seperate transmission floor cover out and add in a new piece to clear the top of the 350 turbo.
The flywheel for mine was off of a 48-54 Hudson big six, modified to fit the 55-56 crankshaft. Had to re-drill the crank mating pattern, increase the recess area to fit the larger crankshaft flange on the front side of the flywheel and then drill the converter pattern. Last step was to add 1/2" long welds on the back side to tack weld the starter ring gear to the flywheel so the starter does not push it off when engaging.
Dany's parts were first class and work real nice once installed. I am luck enough to have access to a Bridgeport mill and did the flywheel one night, but it only took about 2 hours which was 7 beers.
I am just waiting for the new ignition system to show up for me to test at the dragstrip (Hint Hint Dany if you need a guennie pig to test it on!).
