O.D. Wiring Questions for 49

1. The diagram from YNZ shows a red wire going from the cut out switch to what APPEARS to be the governor (it really is not clear). They dont include a wire for such, so am I correct in that there is a wire that goes from the GOVERNOR to one of the two terminals on the CUTOUT switch?

2. My O.D solenoid has FOUR terminals. My harness has THREE wires. I seem to remember someone telling me I need to run a jumper from one terminal to another to solve the problem. Can someone fill me in? Better yet, tell me which of the three wires goes to which terminal on the solenoid? Once again, the diagram supplied is less than clear.

THANKS!

Dennis, yes, a wire should go from one terminal of the lockout switch over to the governor. It doesn't matter which terminal of the lockout switch goes to the governor and which goes on up toward the firewall. Are you wiring this like the '50 and later ones, or staying with the '49 wiring scheme and the original big OD relay? (sounds like your OD harness is for the later wiring scheme). If you're wiring it like the '50 and later ones, connect the heavy wire in the harness to terminal 4 of the solenoid, then run a short jumper (16 ga. wire) from there to terminal 3.
