Hydro-leak-matic!!!

My Dual range Hydro leaks from front and back. The back, I imagine, is the prop shaft seal, no problem there. I'm assuming the front is the front pump seal, but, like every smart (former) general mechanic, I sublet all transmission work. But, as mentioned on another thread, with the cost of fuel and health insurance, paying a tranny shop is not really possible right now.

It seems to leak more in reverse and neutral from the front.

What I'd like to know is this;

1) Does this sound like the pump seal to you guys who aren't afraid of transmissions?

2) How muck work is it to fix? (aside from the obvious R+R of trans)

3) Who has the part I need? (I bet I know the answer to this one)

Thanks Jeremy

  • Jeremy , If you a rebuilt kit for your transmission, then you need to call Fatsco. They supply both single and dual range transmission kits consisting of seals ,gaskets filters etc. They also have bands,pumps and other internal parts. 1 800 524 0485 is the phone,and www.fatsco.com is the web address. Good luck with your tranny .
