Without knowing and details such as mechanical condition and what the interior is like
it is difficult to tell, but if the car is running and the interior looks presentable that is certainly a fair price to begin negotiations.....0 -
Thanks Tom0

Book for #4 to #3 car is approx $3,300 to $7,300 but that is just a range. If the interior is as nice as the exterior I would think offering $4,500 for a nice solid driving car is a fair deal. If your first impression when looking at it in person is positive, then go for it! Niels0

I think that car is a Hornet, much different than a Wasp. The Wasp of that year would have a 202 and be underpowered, the Hornet would have a 308. Hornets are a much better choice than a Wasp, especially in 1955.0

It Looks To Me To Be A Hornet By The Molding On The Right Front Fender You Should Be Very Careful When Buying A 55,56,57 Hudson Or Nash Most Always The Out Side Looks Just Fine The Unitbody ,frame Is Where All The Trouble Will Be The Car Looks To Be A Flat Repaint To Me With A Dent In The Front Fender And Rust Coming Down The Drivers Side Rear Tire And The Dirt Beside The Front Right Tire And Wheel And It's Missing A Hud Cap It Looks Like It's Been Setting A While With Out A Real Good Under Car Inspection I Would Steer Clear Of This One At This Price To Me It Looks Like A #4and If There Is A Lot Of Frame And Floor It's A 50

In 1955, Hornets only could be bought with the Hudson 308 L 6, or the 320 Packard v8. Look under the floor mats and look at the trunk floor for rust ,as this is where it starts first.0 -
I think these folks advertised in the latest WTN--could be contacted that way--here is auction information:

still looking for a 54 driver0 -
Car pictured is a Hornet. The Hornet was longer from the cowl forward than the Wasp, and this car has the longer front end.0

Not to mention , the descriptive info in the ad says it is a Hornet.... Walt-LA0

Is the car close enough to you for a visual inspection?
5k is very reasonable for a runner if its not a rusted out mess.0 -
