On my 29 Hudson there are wind wings that someone mounted with sheet metal screws and drilled holes in the doors. The holes are not holding the screws very well and there is no where to get a nut to mount to. I have seen some type of nut mount that you push into a hole that you can screw a regular screw into that wont strip out like a metal screw. Do you know of a place I can get these ? Thanks Ron

Try Ace Hdw. They have a rubber insert that can be used for this purpose. it "might be" called a Nutsert. Can't remember.

Ron... there are several do it yourself solutions that can be found at LOWES or Home Depot special fastener sections. If you live in or near a nut and bolt wholesale house, they can usually obtain fastners of all types. The aircraft industry uses many different blind fastening solutions where a threaded insert is put into hole or the insert is used as a reinforcement for a rivet type of connection. Measure the holes you need to fill and visit the bolt and nut place... check the catalog to match up a solution... you should be able to find a suitable solution that is reasonablly priced.

    Cheers:)
