Buying a 1950 Pacemaker 4 door for parts
Iam picking up a 1950 pacemaker 4 door this weekend in south dakota. Iam needing some parts and pieces for my 49 2 door. Whatever i dont need i will post it here first. All i know that it has a six with an automatic and that the tail and headlights are missing. E-mail mail me or yahoo me if u need something dont really want to fiddle with e-bay and deal with the people not paying and asking out rageous questions.

Your message reminded me that I'd helped a South Dakota scrapyard owner list a Pacemaker on the Classiccar classifieds, last year. If this is not the same one and you're in the neighborhood (Sioux Falls) you might want to stop by his yard for a look-see. The car very well may be gone by now (there wasn't that worth salvaging, but it did have an overdrive transmission): http://classiccar.chooseyouritem.com/parts/files/87000/87005.html0

Are you sure it is a pacemaker and a 1950? Automatics were not offered in 1950, started in 51 and not in Pacemakers that I am aware of unless someone converted it and put in a 262 or 308 engine. change pedals, steering columm etc.
ID tag on right door pillar will identify it. I believe in 50 it would start with 500 as the series. In 51-newer Pacemakers were 4A seies. longer wheelbase cars were 5a,6a,7a,8a
Also wheelbase on Pacemakers is 119" all others are 124"

it was posted in the hemmings mag online so iam not sure what iam really getting to tell the truth but when i get back i will post the vin tag info iam thinking its a commadore. Its located up in Estelline S.D. I will also see what other goodies he has around. Iam thinking its a 50 or 51 or so because it has the crome running down the side down below the door handles.0

Hi,
Do you have passenger side (middle piece) stainless steel door trim for '52 Hornet coupe and a exterior steel sun visor with proper hardware?
Thanks, Ray

If your vin tag is to be believed then you have a bit of a rare bird. You have a 1950 Pacemaker Deluxe. This was offered for one year only-1950. After that it was only the Pacemaker for 51 and 52. This is an unusual car. Basically a gussied up Pacemaker{ model 50XXXXXX.} Hudson in 1950 had attempted to go after the Plymouth market by bringing out the Pacemaker and the Pacemaker Deluxe, but wound up shooting themselves in the foot as people came in to the Hudson showroom considering a Commodore and went out buying a Pacemaker. Plymouth didn't suffer and Hudson did on Commodore sales. After 1950 that thinking ended with Hudson. Pacemaker was offered for two more years and then was dropped.Good luck on your car.0
