Hello all knowlegeable ones,

Is a 53 coupe front seat interchangeable and correct (besides perhaps upolstery) for a 54 Coupe?

I would put money that it is, but since you have both sitting right next to each other, it would be easy to check.

all 1948 to 54 seats are the same.
  • Dave is right. The only real oddball is the convert. rear seat. It interchanges with nothing but another convert. rear seat.
  • NOPE......the seats in the Wasp (54) are completely different..Been told they are closer to a Jet seat than a Hornet seat.

Mine don't even mount to the floor the same way, the cushion is Not removable and it sits much closer to the steering wheel even when fully in the back position

I may stand to be corrected on Wasp seat, as I have never owned or worked on one. I was referring to full size or long wheelbase cars.
  • Tom B, According to the 48-54 parts catalog the front seat pan will interchange 48-52,4C,5C,7C,4D,5D,6D,7D. This would include the Wasp in the interchange Part#210060. Cushions are different but the seat tray does interchange according to the book.

I have noticed that the underside of a front bottom seat of the sedan and convert/hollywood had a couple different curve lines of bracing. Although it may not effect it on either car. Just so hapeen to look last week as I am lining up my uplostery and I had a better front bottom to a sedan that the hollywood but wasn't sure it would sit the same . So I tried both and both set fine but the hollywood set better in its origanal frame than did the sedan bottom.
