49 Comm 8 Conv Bro.-Top/Carpet Colors

I settled on a trimmer this week and now I have to decide on what color to do the top and carpet in (interior is going to be maroon/red leather as original). I have pretty much settled on doing the top in black or gray, as those seem to be my only choices if I want to stay original (hate white tops). So my question for the top is, if the car was originally done in Roman Red, what color was the top when it left the factory? Sure, the dealer could alwasys change it, my question is what was the "stock" color combo, or could you order it with any of the 3 or so top choices. My second question is in regards to the carpet. With a Comm 8 Brougham, it is my understanding that the carpet was gray. Is this indeed correct? If so, does anyone have swatch or color numer I could reference? I have a dealer Brochure for the car and it looks sweet with the gray carpet and red leather. I would like to go that route if it is correct and not just an artist rendition.



Anyway, anyone out there have the facts on top & carpet colors???

Hi Dennis - I looked on my 49 brochure and it says Black, gray or maroon were the top choices.



Gray carpet and gray top might look pretty sharp...

I agree....I am totally into the idea of the red body with gray top, leather and gray carpet. Works for me. Thanks
