34 terraplane rear end lube,plugs

These back-ends were originally lubed with EP90 in summer and EP110 in winter, which is un-necessary these days with modern lubricants. A good modern 85W-140 multigrade EP gear oil will take care of it. Spark plugs to use in the '34 are Champion J8 or other makes equivalent. These are commonly used these days in four-stroke lawnmowers.

Please use correct grade and weight. Have tried newer multi grades in old trans. and rears and for one thing the old seals and tolerances are looser than the new ones, so thinner grades and multis tend to leak past. On trans. sometimes the thinner grade will cause gear not shifting smoothly. One other thing I have found in buying old cars with leaking water pumps, the parts house sells them a multi purpase red grease fo be used for wheel bearings to keeping the old plow from rusting, I warm moter and if zerk is on side or bottom remove and hope it will run out some. Then I try to find, say at a farm supply, a lithium water proof grease of correct weight and put zerk back and pump the grease in and so far over the years I have had about 75% stop leaking. These are cheap trys and have had people send like a REO fire truck trans. to 2 diffrent shops because they can't shift right, then they try my grease idea last and wish it was the first try.
It's your ride so do what you want to do, but allways help the kids and ladies,
