Trying to remove master cylinder
First , let me thank you guys for the help you have given me in the past on my first Hudson adventure. I have been laying under the car trying to figure out how to remove the master cylinder on my 39 series 91. There is a pin with a cotter key on the end of the plunger rod , but it is in a place that can barely be seen - no way to get hand or tools on it. Does removing the emergency brake mechanism help? I am sure there is an easy way to get the job done, but I have not yet figured out how to do it. I would welcome any advise from someone who remembers the procedure.
Thanks,
David

It's been some time since I last pulled a master cylinder from my '37, but it seems to me that I just disconnected the hydraulic lines from the cylinder, unbolted it, and pulled it straight out. I thought the plunger stayed with the car; in other words, that one did not have to undo the cotter pin. Have you tried just removing the master cylinder to see if it comes off?0

That makes sense. I have not tried that. I was assuming that the plunger was attached.
I will try what you say. I'll let you know how I come out. It will be next week before I can get back to work on the car. Thanks for your response.
