Floor pans, 1/4 panels and screws

Hi all, does anyone make new front floor pans for my 54 7D? I am also wondering if I should cut the 1/4 panels off, repair and sandblast my rusty frame rails? I have welding experience but have not gone this far in a car.

Does anyone know where I can purchase new hinge screws? I had to drill out many of mine. Thank all in advance. Jim

  • Where are you located? When I removed the doors from my 54 coupe, I bought a box of screws to replace the ones I drilled out. Only difference is they take an Allen wrench to tighten. Worked great for Me. E-mail Me..HETbjhickson@charter.net

I know Ken Amman sells floor pans for the 48-53 stepdown - I don't know how different are the 54's?

The 54's have welded on quarter panels don't they? That's an extreme amount of work to cut and weld quarter panels on and without seeing pictures of the extent of your damage It's very hard to make any recommendations.

On the door hinge screws - I am going the same route as BJ and getting pan head machine screws that use an allen wrench fitting.
  • Floorpans will interchange. Yep, the '54's have weld ons. They would be a lot of work to take off and fix but if you're patient enough it can be done. Drilling out the spot welds takes a lot of time...
  • I have a 1950 Hudson in bad need of both front floor pans and a transmission cover. I dont know Ken Amman and would like to know how to contact him.

    Thanks
