Is the transmission support cross member in the 55/6/7 the same for manuals and hydramatics? Is swapping from a 3 speed gearbox to a hydramatic virtually just a bolt up operation?

Rob Is Right On The Money I Would Never Undertake The Swap Your Thinking About And I've Done It All On 567 Cars
  • NO! That is a word that fit's all of your questions. First off a three speed 55 or 56 Hudson is rare and for that alone it should remain a stick shift. Now that I have said that puting a hydramatic in your car is not a job to undertake. The crossmember, rear axle torque tube, u-joint, rear end ratio and transmission mount are not the same.
