It's a case of "if it aint broke don't fix it" with shocks. If there is no sign of leakage, and there are no blank spots when you extend and compress the shock absorber fully, then leave it alone. There are specific instructions for filling the shocks in the worshop manual, and quantities are 4 oz for front ad 5 oz for rear. If you over fill you could irreparably damage the unit.

will this apply to my 37 t-plane shocks as well. ??0

Workshop manual stipulates 6-1/4 oz. for '37 shock absorbers. Procedure is to remove filler plug, and work unit up and down repeatedly until all old fluid is removed. Clamp unit in vise in horizontal position. Using special filler cup screwed in to filler hole, pour designated amount in, and work shock absorber up and down with short quick strokes until all fluid is drawn in. You could easily make up a funnel soldered to a suitable brass taper fitting. However, I re-iterate, if there are no "blind" spots in the shock absorber when you manually move it up and down, leave it alone.
