Speedo cable

Requesting advise regarding a noisy (click behind dash followed by a springy sound beneath car) speedo cable. 53 Hornet sedan Hydro. Speedo isn't bouncing any more than I figure is normal for a 53 year old car.

You need to undo the cable from the speedo head, and manually check that the speedo does not have a bind. If it is tight to turn, it needs overhauling and lubricating. If it turns freely, the problem is most likely a kink in the cable and sheath, or maybe just needs lubricating.
