Thanks to all those great folks I met in Ontario this weekend, I had a great time at the first Hudson meet I've been at in over 16 years. If anyone wants High Res copies of these pics, just send me a message.

Hey your alright, you got my Hornet in there. Yours was one of two or three Jets (me thinks) that was there. Those are the first Jets I have ever seen other than pictures that I can remember. Believe it or not that is the second Italia I have seen. There was one at a concourse in Irvine CA last September where we were showing my Dad's Mercedes Gullwing. It was a nice car, but can't remember the name of the owner. I was in the hunt for my car, so I was just learning Hudsons and researching or I would have never known what I was looking at at the time
  • Here's another pic with your Special in it. It's a sharp lookin car!

It's amazing how many from the club are on the forum, but you don't know who they are because of the nicknames. I am not sure if I know who Royer is but he sure knew the 54 Special was mine. Just wish it was as sharp looking as he said. Thanks for the compliment.

Matthew ! I didn't get to hear my motor run, I had to open the Memorbilia (SP) Room! Nuts, I heard it before these headers were installed. I am going out to see my Motor and '54 coupe in two weeks. See you in Laughlin. VicTor

They made 25 Hudson Italias + a 4-door called the X-161. All but three are accounted for. Fred Roth owns two, a restored one (#17) and the one at the Western Regional which was the last one built (#25). It's basically original. Unfortunately Fred is not an HET Club member. The one you saw probably belonged to Richard Salchunas, and I believe it has a later model drive train. There are 5 altogether in California. One is in Sweden and one is in France, the rest are scattered around the country. The January/February 2004 issue of White Triangle News featured complete info on the Italia, centered on car #22, which has been restored to Pebble Beach standards by the Souers family of Indiana. Now isn't that much more than you needed to know? But hey, you never know when one of us will find one of the missing ones! LOL
  • I BOUGHT THE nO 22 IN fRESON, CA IN THE 90S AFTER 30 YEARS HIDING IN THE HANDS OF RECLUSE, HARLAN ASHENFELTER. IDID THE BRAKES AND PUT ON NEW TIRES AND A TUNEUP. SOLD IT TO CONNIE KLINTARE OF WOODLAND HILLS WHO RESOLD IT AND BOUGHT ONE IN HIS HOME COUNTRY OF SWEDEN. HE STILL HAS IT. AFTER CHANGING HANDS SEVERAL TIME NO 22 WOUND UP IN THE HANDS OF MR SOURS WHO DID THE RESTO IT DESERVED. TOOK ME 30 YEARS TO TRACK IT DOWN AND DIG IT OUT, PROUD TO SAY I CONTRIBUTED, BILL ALBRIGHT

Ivan's race car in front and my red Special just like a caboose. I tried to follow him to shoot pictures on the track, but two cars got between us and you were not allowed to pass.
