Pictures needed of an original Fram oil filter

I am in need of some pictures of the Fram oil filter for a 48-50 stepdown. I think I got it all correct, and I also think I found the correct "fram filcron" decals, but I want to make sure.

Also, I could use a few pointers on filter requirements. Right now, the filter has a Hastings 101 in it, which seems a bit larger from what you find on the hudson filters, but It will work fine, the bracket is right, and the lines are right, and it came off of an old narrow block, so It's what's going on the 50.

anyone got a cross reference? for something modern? and an alternative source for decals?

thanks in advance!

    Hi Kid,

The modern interchange is a Fram C3P for the stepdown cannister. I'm pretty sure the C4P is for the pre-48 cars. The cannister is painted orange while the top is gloss black.

    Hi Kid,

KGap has the decals, I'm pretty sure.

    C4p fits the 55-57 v8's; C3p fits the stepdowns.

    ... C3p fits the stepdowns.

    Also some Mercedes. We're classy!
  • NAPA 1010 fits.
  • Does anyone make new oil lines for the filter? 54 hornet 308
  • I run the Napa 1010 in my 51 Hornet work well and are readily available. I bought a shelf full just in case.

I bought an 8" and 12" brake line and a couple inverted flare fittings and neatly formed them. Never have to worry about breaking and they look good.
  • I have heard from a few Hudnuts that tractor shops will be able to fab them for you as they do a lot of hose work for the hydraulics on tractors.
  • got the filter. Found one at carquest, via the hastings cross reference

Painted the housing, cap, and bracket. still need a few pictures....

    Anyone???
