Mike , Welcome to the world of Hudsons! If you are interested in finding out about the car you described, open the passenger door and look on the front "A" pillar where the door hinges are attached. About mid way down the pillar is an aluminium triangular tag that indicates the the model and it's serial number. For the year 1948 it would be a prefix of 481,482,483, or 484 followed by the production number. 481 means it's a Super Six, 482 means it's a Commodore Six. 483 indicates it's a Super Eight and 484 means it's a Commodore Eight. This same prefix sequence works for the 49 models too except that it starts with 49 instead of 48. Good luck0

Thanks in advance!

Mike: you say 'no back seat'. Is it missing...? Or was it never there? If the area behind the front seat seems finished off, with what seems like a hatch between the back seat area and the trunk, and there is no sign of a back seat having been there, you may have a business coupe. Somewhat rare.0
