46 trim Removal

A 'Red Devil' brand paint scraper works real well. It has the curved metal blade you can carefully wedge under the trim, and gently lift it off of it's retainers.0

Yeah, the trim pops off of the retainers at the bottom with a thin metal tool that can be made with a 90 degree bend, a little downward pressure on the strip it self while you are prying (gently) will help also. Goodluck0

I'm curious -- would it be any better to have TWO paint scrapers, at either side of the molding, prying at the same time? Then the trim is being pulled straight away from the car instead of being bent over in one direction.0

I found the best way is to work it loose a tiny bit at the top corner. Then using lots of wd40 I gently work my tool further along the top edge. As you go it gets easier but take your time and let the lubricant do its work. I don't like using a tool top and bottom as it tends to bend the trim outwards and distort it.0
