Doc Hudson Hits Mainstream
Definative proof of the huge Hudson marketing effect of the movie "Cars" will have. I was sitting in my 51 Hornet Coupe outside a store today. As I was getting ready to leave a 6 year old kid with his Mother and Grandmother walked by. The Kid said, "Look Mom. a Hudson Hornet!". He was totally enthralled. I opened the hood and showed him the Twin-H engine. He asked why it had such a big engine. I said it was to win races just like Doc Hudson. Imprinting 6 year olds about Hudson Hornets is sheer genious!

Yeah!!! That's awesome!
Also, it's apparent that everyone thinks this is going to be big for the Hudsons because I saw, on the back of the toy I got in my happy meal today,
HUDSON HORNET is a registered trademark of DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION.
Finally some recognition from our "parent".0 -
A "parent" that did everything it could to obliterate the "child" at the races. Nice revisionist history DC.0

Nothing revisionist about it. D-C owns the trademarks and the names for all Hudson, Nash, AMC, Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, DeSoto, Fargo. Simple as that.
Since the Hudson Motor Car Company doesn't exist, what else are they to put on the toy?0 -

Your positive posts put a smile on my face everyday!0 -
The name "Hornet" was used by AMC in the '70's, and I believe it will be used by D-C on a new Dodge product shortly.0

Daimler is working on obliterating the whole Hudson name!!! I have the American Muscle Body Shop, Rydel High 1959 (on the box) 1/64th scale die cast model of the 1951 "CHRYSLER' Hornet. That's what it says on the box, folks - "CHRYSLER" Hornet.
I bought two of these - one to put together and one for later sale on ebay. Figure it ought to be worth a fortune one of these days. LOL ROF LLAM
Yeah, right "CHRYSLER" Hornet.
Hudsonly,

Hey Patrick, isn't this sort of ..well.. like CLONING when you claim something is authentic when it isn't?? Like parents who claim a child that's their own when it isn't ?0

it always comes around. you can't alienate the entire board on a fairly consistent basis, and expect to be Mr. Popular.
Let's face it, your opinions are just not that popular around here, but if nothing else, you aren't afraid to post whatever is on your mind.
Not that a little restraint would be perhaps appropriate.0 -
My plan seems to be working, then, mmwwwwaaaaaahhhhh!0
