Kiwi Bound!!!!
My family and I will be in the Auckland, New Zealand area from 7/14 thru 7/19 and the Doubtless Bay, New Zealand area from 7/20 thru 7/25. We will also be near Mudgee, Australia from 7/26 thru 7/28.
If anybody is around these dates and would like to meet, please let me know. We would be happy to meet some other Hudson folks (even the purists! :-))
I know its winter there, but hey, its going to be 115 degrees (46C) here this week!

If you happened to be travelling south from Auckland on a weekend to the Manawatu area at all I am sure we could gather a number of keen HETers together. Come see some real rural NZ!
There are a number of members in the Auckland area so if you don't get a reply on this forum let me know and I could make contact for you or give you a contact.
Winter definately here at the moment, some areas snowed in for the last week in the deep south, heaps of rain most places and is a modest 3 degrees this morning (but 22 inside!)
Have a great trip

"but humidity is only 14%!" (not really... )
When I was 18 I worked at the county fair with a girl from Australia for 2weeks - drop dead gorgeous and the accent was, well, sexy! So In my ealier days I always wanted to go to that area of the world and see what it was like.
When I got my programming degree in 96 I wanted to move to Australia or Hawaii - but back then I didn't have enough experience. Now I have the experience - but not the desire as I could never leave my Rambo Dog behind!
That's a PITA of a plane flight so I've heard here's your "Cars Reading List"...I'd go buy as many of these as possible to keep your brain from turning to goo during the 2 day trip on the plane!0 -
Dan, your right, the plane is a good 12 1/2 hour jont. But my wife and son do it every year to eastern europe and I usually make the trip every other year. My in laws live there and I have step family there as well.
Thanks for the list! Looks like some good stuff for me and my son. I just got him a "Cars" sticker book. Saw the LeapPad stuff, but its K-1st and a little ahead for him. I may buy it just to have when he's older, since they will probably not be around then. I upgraded our seats on the plane to a step above economy, I think it will make the trip much nicer. We are not folks who can afford biz class, so this will be a nice change from "the cheap seats!" lol
And if we manage to move there in a few years, you can always make the trip for a visit! Know the dog thing, we have 2 herders. But one is 13 y.o. and probably won't make it another year, but our little female ACD (Aussie Cattle Dog) is about 3 y.o. and a great family dog. Of course, if we move, we will take her. Dogs are often much easier to deal with then most humans!
Hopefully we'll get together with some Hunson folks over there and get some pics to post.

Hey, get it right please. Calling us Kiwis Australian is the equivalent of calling U.S. citizens Canadian!! Australia is 1,200 miles west of us, and they talk entirely different (or should I say deeferent)? Pity you can't come to the "real" New Zealand Jay, Auckland is considered a seperate country here. Have a good trip.

Please email me at Huddy42@optusnet.com.au if you are going to Mudgee we may be able to get a few guys meet up with you, you should spend more time in Aust than Kiwi land because most of the Kiwi's live here anyway, and the scenery is MUCH better, and warmer.

Geoff, you should just pick on the Australians, us Aucklanders cannot be as bad as them, LOL0
-
Jay, I hope you got my email the other day? I posted my email address on this site to contact me and I will do or organise anything to help when you are here in the warmer part of the country0
