What year would a 308 engine, serial number #221418 be?

I have a 308 engine with a serial # of 221418. It is a painted 1954 color red but I'd like to confirm what year it is. Thanks

I had two different '53's which were 209xxx and 223xxx, so it has to be a 53

1953 should be correct - starting serial numbers in '53 were 202917 for Model 7C Hornet; 1954 were 269060 for all models.
