What would be a reasonable price for a 212 drivetrain??
I have a 46 super six (212 cu in) that I will be selling the engine, transmission and rear end. This is a RUNNING GREAT engine. What would be a reasonable price to ask for this package?? I dont have a clue and need suggestions thanks. No idea on the mileage on the engine. Thanks JR new guy

I wouldn't want to hazard a guess, but let me ask a couple questions anyway.
Do you know the condition of the engine? When it runs, are there any noises indicating possible problems (rod knock, etc.)? Have you checked the compression? HOW it runs is as important to the potential buyer as WHETHER it runs.
Next: what's the clutch condition. Does it engage smoothly, and it doesn't slip?
The transmission: is it a 3-speed or 3-speed with overdrive? An OD will add value to the entire package.
(I stand corrected on asking the year; I didn't read carefully enough. So, we will assume that since it came from a 1946 car, it's a '46 engine!)0 -
I would assume the engine is a 46 since he says its from a 46 super 6.0
