Update on the Chrysler Hornet
Dodge Hornet won't use VW platform
DaimlerChrysler has decided against using a Volkswagen platform for a forthcoming Dodge compact, according to German trade publication Automobilwoche. Originally, there was speculation Chrysler could use either the Polo or Jetta architecture to build the ~$10,000 Dodge Hornet. However, VW was unable to give the company an attractive enough price, according to the report. Chrysler plans to name a partner for the vehicle by the end of the year. In late July, German media reports indicated Chrysler was also in talks with China's Chery Automobile about building the new b-segment vehicle.

Just what we need, more rebadged vehicles. Maybe all vehicle makers should share one central manufacturing facility and just slap their name on what it spits out.0

Coming soon - a "govm't" run auto recycling plant - every 5 years you will, by law, turn your old car in and be issued a new one for a nominal sum, to be increased everytime Washington needs more money.

It's true...the "govm't" will be implementing this plan by purchasing Ford. They'll be renaming it Frod to accurately describe their core business (fraud):D0 -
