water pump leaking? (oil stain @ drain)

Is the water pump about to start leaking water if it shows a greasy-oil stain from the drain hole underneath? Currently rebuilding engine and don't want to reinstall this pump if it is about to fail any time soon.

Why take a chance? If you are rebuilding the engine it doesn't make much sense to install any untested old parts on a new engine. I would get a rebuild kit or a rebuilt pump from Dave Kostansek.
