Need an Oil pan Floto-Screen, please...
As some of you may recall I had some engine problems with knocking and thumping awhile back and threw around the idea of swapping out the original 232 6-engine I have in the 52 Pacemaker. After dropping the oil pan this afternoon, I have found that there was more than a good inch and a half of sludge in the bottom of the oil pan, along with grime, dirt and what felt like in the fingertips like 54 years of oil sludge buildup....
Anyway, I think my engine problem was that my temp gauge quit on me the same time I began having engine problems... long story short - I was not getting ANY oil circulation because my oil pan 'floto-screen' was immersed in sludge so much that the screen was impoded and crushed under the vacuum pressure - see photos. My engine may have given out under the strain of the heat... not a good thing.
Where can I find a replacement for this oil pan screen? Dale Cooper? Dave Kostansek? Anyone else? Any advice or help on this is much appreciated.... and no, I am not giving up on my original engine yet....
Thanks.

Hey Kevin,
You might look at PASSAT's thread, he has what is supposed to a rebuilt 232. This AM he's on page 1. May be something you install while you're porperly rebuilding the original. Looks like an economical way to get the Pacemaker back on the road. Hope you can connect, both have a need.
Thanks for letting me share,
