1926 Essex Sedan 2nd series all steel
I am about to acquire a 1926 Essex Sedan 2nd series all steel model and was wondering if anyone knows of any others that have been or are being restored or already up and on the road?
If you have one can you please post some pictures or please email them to me at juliebuffy@btinternet.com so we can use them for reference please.
Also can anyone give me information on restoring and rebuilding the roof? It appears to be wood with a leatherete type covering but we no longer have the shape for the peak over the top of the front windscreen!
Many thanks
Julie

I have the 1926 Mechanical Specification sheets and Paint Specifications (no mix numbers here, but what colors were used on bodies and what was used in the interior.
Drop me an email @ HEThudsontech09@yahoo.com (drop the HET) and I'll email this data to you.

Julie, our NZHET club has the following web site. We have many photos of our members cars including a 1926 Coach and a 1926 Sedan

Click on "HET Photos" - I hope that is of interest to you.

Hi again
We we bought her, shes a gem. 1926 all steel sedan. A real gem, loads of spares too.
I keep seeing a lot of info around this age but not for this model.
Has anyone please got a copy of a 1926 illustrated parts manual and/or instruction book please? (pretty please x)
This would help so much.
She is in better condition that we thought and plan to have her rolling and mot'd here in the UK by Easter 2007.
I even found the dealers plate. Motors Limited 26 Flinders St, Adelaide!!! Intact and in pristine condition under a load of rubbish. Any info on this company would be much appreciated. Her chassis number is 482163.
Many thanks in advance

Julie, you would do well to find someone in your country with an Essex or that era, in order to inspect his car, photograph and measure it. He may even have spares, or know where you can obtain them.
Joining one of the Hudson-related clubs (the H-E-T, the New Zealand or Australian club, or even the Railton Owners Club in your own country) will be of great help in finding fellow owners, if you haven't already done so. Looking at the Membership Roster of the H-E-T, for example, I see that a fellow in Hants with a '27 Essex sedan, a fellow in Manchester with a '27 coach, and a fellow in Wales with a '22 touring car (4-door open car). These people in turn, may know of other Essexes whose owners don't belong to the H-E-T, so your search may produce unexpected results.
There's nothing like having a car 'right there' to look at, as opposed to manuals and photos.0
