Timing, Timing Chain, and Overheating

Thank you Hudson308 for that advice.:) My Jet's been running hot ever since the Western Regional, but I figured that it's because it's hot here in the summer. However, when the weather cooled down below 95, my Hudson stayed hot. I recently replaced the thermostat with a correct one from Dave K. - it cooled it some, but still ran hotter than I like. Then I read Hudson308's wise post about timing. A quick check with Harbor Freight's finest $9.95 timing light revealed that my 202's timing was retarded. Now the timing is correct and my Hudson is running at normal temps.
Does this change in timing indicate that I need to replace the timing chain?
Thanks for all your help,
Matt
Three things you should always check on a Hudson that runs warm are TIMING, TIMING and last but not least... THE TIMING.
