Brake Pedal Removal

I want to remove the brake pedal from the brake lever on my 53 Hornet. The manual says to use tool J2795. Any suggestions how I may accomplish this without the tool? Are there other tools that may be able to use or buy that can do the trick?

    Thanks for the idea. I'll try a bearing puller that looks similar. Hopefully it will not slip off.
