speedometer gear question

Can someone help me to understand the charts concerning speedometer drive gear. I now have a 2 lever 3 speed transmission with overdrive. My rear end stamp number is 1-10. I have been told that this is 4.11 to 1 ratio. I have been told that it can be one of 2 kinds of speedometer gears. I need some help on this little matter.
