Powder Coating Cost

That sounds like a bargain. I paid $75 ea. for blasting, double color, then clear. That included an order of a color specific for my wheel requirement. So if it is $35 go for it!0

Must be my location. Even the electrician bill was very reasonable to run a new line to garage for the freezer.
I will give it go. If it is good quality and the price holds, I go back with other parts. They were recommended by the local speed shop.0 -
I regularly work with a local powdercoater. Because we use them for business, he offered me a discount of $45.00 each. Regular price is about $60.00 ea.
Go for it,

Have you seen any of his work?0

Yes - at the local speed shop. This powder coating firm does work for other firms on a production run basis. The firm does this stuff as "special order" work. The owner was very friendly and knowledgable about restoring older cars. He asked if I was going to coat any for the front end stuff or the frame.0 -
I ran a powder coating shop up until 7 years ago and I had a $125 minimum and charged extra for special colors. All parts had to be brought to me blasted or stripped as I didn't do either. You are getting a good deal.

See if he'll give you a reference for someone he did work for, say, a year ago or more. I had four 16" truck wheels done for my late, great '70 Ford F250, and one whell on my old Metropolitan. They were $40/each, blasted and coated. Well, after about a month on the truck (and a month as the spare on the Met), you could see rust discoloration where the wheel center met the wheel rim on all five wheels! Their powder coating job was terrible, and they tried to say that "all steel wheels did that after powder coating"...needless to say, they refused to redo them. These were perfect, straight, non-rusted wheels when they were painted.
Oh, yeah, they are now out of business.
Since then, I paint my wheels. After the screwing I got on that little episode, I'm not willing to "try someone else" on another set of steelies for powder-coating. I'll have nearly any other part coated, but I'll paint my wheels from now on.0 -

Sorry to hear that you got bad service. So far this firm checks out. They powder coat for a local Defense contractor. Anotehr paint shop also recommended them this afternoon.0 -

Sounds like a great deal to me then.0
