HONK REPAIR

I am calling this thread "HONK" REPAIR because it seems impossible to search for "HORN" with out getting a hit on every thread that contains HORNet.
My '54 Wasp has Autolite horns which I assume are OEM?
1. problem is only one works but it is very quiet.  I have repair/adjustment steps in my Mechanical Procedure Manual
2. anyone have experience repairing these?
3. are replacement gaskets available?

Common problem is corrosion of contacts. Check those and see if that may be the troublemaker.

I can't help with question, but when you do a search, put quotes around word so results will be better     "horn"

Generally dual horns on old cars have a low and high tone to blend to a nice sound. What I want to do is to automatically toggle the horns whenever the horn(s) is operated from inside the car.
To toggle the horn relatively fast, it would sound like an European siren you hear in movies and would certainly get someone's attention real fast !!!
Has anyone done this? Does someone have the automatic transistorized circuit schematic??
Send PM if so; intent is not to divert thread.
Edit: believe I have found what will work to do this trick. By using a relay for each horn connected right & left as shown.  Will purchase and advise on this ( if it works !!!)

  • Upon further inspection my horns do not pop open as described in my manual, they look crimped closed.  Again, these are AUTOLITE horns..
  • Going to try this, Ford Mustang looks close to my Autolite (Ford) horns:
