I have a MCL 6006 starter with no threaded holes to mount the solenoid, did they stop putting these holes in the starters at some point?I have seen them on the 4159 and 6109 starters before. Thanks

I have 2 points of reference for you.

My Hudson is a 1951 that has the solenoid attached to the fender.  So there was no need for the threaded holes.  The starter is a MCH-6109.

My friend's 1949 had the solenoid attached to the starter.  I am afraid that I don't know what model starter it was and I no longer have access to the car.

    Perhaps this is of help.
