only reason mine isn't rackin up daily driver miles is because it nees a lot of mechanical work.0

I don't drive any of my cars like I used to, but between the four of them clock up 5000 miles a year. Have finally succumbed and bought a ricemobile for my wife to drive, as she has to have power steering, and could no longer handle the Jet. I drove the '28 Essex and Jet alternatively for 25 years as my business cars, clocking up 650,000 miles between the two. Now I'm semi-retired, it's only the weekly shopping trip to town, fishing trips, rallies, and holiday trips. I tow the caravan with either the Essex or Jet, and the Hornet and '29 Hudson are purely for converting petrol into pleasure.

I've owned my Jet forty years, and so far have managed to rack up over 60,000 miles so far. Don't drive it as much as I used to, but average about 2,500 to 3,000 miles a year. About to leave tomarrow for Pigeon Forge, TN Smokey Mtn Heartland Chapter is putting on this weekend. I'm going to try to attach a photo or two of the car - Jerry0

Nice Looking Hudson! I know some have a love/hate relationship with the Jet - but this is a nice looking car and you should be proud to have kept it in such nice shape over all the years you've owned it.
Yours is a beautiful stock looking example and please take no offense but someday - I'd like to see one of these 'Lil Jets' with the roof line lowered a few inches to more closely emulate the stepdown models in proportions0 -
Mine doesn't even have any drivetrain installed, but I got a photo-radar speeding ticket on the 101 freeway this year! :-)0

Dany Spring is going to put it in a '29 Essex hot rod if I remember correctly. My Vette set-up is in the garage but got delayed due to the frame rot issue and having to get my donor shell/frame. I'm saving up the cash for a chem dip so I can finally get the Fatman's MII stub frame installed and the motor/tranny set-up.0 -
How far/often can you drive a 66-year-old all original car with Hudson's awesome 175 ci engine on California freeways? Well, last year on the Laughlin economy I drove it 500+ miles round trip over the weekend. Normally, I don't get very far, but I drive my 52,400-mile baby every week, year round. :rolleyes:0

Over the last 3 years, I average about 500 miles per year. My travel is always on back roads, county roads, state routes and the occasional trip down the National Road (US 40). My Hudson also is my time machine. I enjoy the ride and the scenery, keep it at 55, and reflect on life's blessings and new challenges. ArtS0

We do about 1500 miles a year in a 28 Essex going on local runs and rallys, doing the occasional wekking and just out for no reason but to enjoy. Last weekend was a 3 day one. Went to our NZHET AGM. By the time I got home had covered the over 300 miles - with ease!
