Capones Hudson?
Kenny, you currently own the particular Hudson originally owned by Big
Al's little brother? (Does anybody know his brother's name?) How did you come
to know of your cars history? You and Jeff Town swapped radiator shells --
does that mean that a piece of a famous Capone car is on the front of my car?
Mebbe I should sell it to Fox TV fer a couple a million? Geraldo could do a
special and . . .
The story I heard from somebody years ago was that Al Capone had
purchased Hudsons for the speed and reliability they offered they offered his
rather demanding business. Can anyone verify or correct this old story? I
can't even remember where heard it.
Pete is quite right about Big Al's penchant for Cadillacs. At least one
of his late 20s Caddies is still around. As I recall, it had armor plate,
bullet proof glass, holes to shoot back, some sort of run flat tires and was
reputedly capable of 100 mph. Not bad for a late 20s car!
