Re: 1915 Moon Touring
Hi Hudson fans,
Just looking at the photos of the 1915 Moon -
and I believe it is exactly that.
Refering to Krause Standard
Catalog......1805-1942 (1st Ed, 1st Printing) on
page 921 under 1915 Moon and then going to page
666 under 1915 Hudson and comparing the pictures
we gave the following differences that readily
stand out.
The hood on the 1915 Hudson is flatter from
radiator to windshield - the Moon has a more
apparent slope. Another feature are the front
fenders - Hudsons have a slightly more gradual
kickup from the running board where the Moon is
sharper. Also note the hub caps - the Hudson
used a trianular shape, bit hard to see in the
Catalog photo, but it's there - in the photos of
the Moon that is missing.
There is also the absence of the Hudson
triangle on the radiator shell. Also note the
interior shot of the dash board - Hudsons had a
gas fill on the right side, I believe, in 1915
(and other years in that era).
So all of the above leads me to believe that it
is indeed a 1915 Moon.
