Brake Arcing.
This refers to "fitting the lining to the drum. Usually the lining does
not fit the drum perfectly along the length of the shoe and "arcing" the
shoe gives the brake shoe full contact throughout its length. this is done
by either grinding the lining in a jig or the backyard method (my personal
cheap way) of bending the brake shoe slighty by blocking it up and bending
it with a hammer til the shoe fits the drum better. Other people just "wear
them in" ie let them drag and "seat themselves"
